前作に比べ、突然変異と感じさせるほどの強烈な進化を遂げている。牧山だけでなく、中林成爾（vc）、原田達也（pf）のトリオに対する理解が深まったうえに、ドラム・パーカッションの名手・岡本健太が参加しているのが大変大きい。
優美な名曲が、４人の卓越した技術によって大胆に変貌していく様は、聴く者を驚かせるばかりでなく、エッシャーのだまし絵のように繊細なユーモア感覚も与えてくれる。３人が手に入れた一体感によってそのふくらみが表れたのであろう。「音楽の融合」は進化だけでなくさらに深化した。

22年11月にリリースしたアルバム『クラシカルトリオ』。皆様のサポートを得て今回第2弾『クラシカルトリオ2』をリリースいたします。
今作では、同級生トリオに加え、パーカッション・ドラムの岡本健太さんが参加。前作以上に厚みのあるサウンドとなりました。そしてクラッシック由来の曲に加えて私のオリジナル曲も3曲収録。クラシックとジャズの融合を、一層進めています。
このユニットのコンセプトは、耳馴染みのあるクラシックの名曲を、ジャズアレンジで新鮮にお届けすることです。一期一会の即興演奏、ライブで息づく、生の音楽をお楽しみいただくことです。 波乱の幕開けとなった2024年。音楽が皆さまの癒しやエネルギーとなることを心から祈っています。
