富山市で生を受けた蕉太郎 (g, vo) と曜志朗 (g, vo) の西田兄弟は、サンスクリット語で「自然に成長する」という意味の"SAHAJi"をバンド名に据え、幼い頃から音楽活動を続けてきた。 UKロックのスピリットを受け継ぐ彼らは、その熱意と行動力をもってザ・ストーン・ローゼズやオアシスなどの作品でエンジニアやプロデューサーを務めたNick Brineに接触、彼のレーベルから4曲入りEP『Future In The Sky』をリリース。 するとイギリスのリスナーの間で人気に火が付き、全英フィジカル・シングル・チャートで最高8位を記録。日本でもSNSを中心に話題となり、国内外から多くの注目を集めている。 EP『Future In The Sky』には、YouTubeで多くの再生回数を誇るタイトル曲などに加え、6月16日にリリースされる3rdシングル「I Wanna Be There」を収録。いずれの曲も完成度が高く、すでに彼らの魅力に憑りつかれている人も満足できる内容となっている。 90年代の英国テイストを中心に取り入れながら、自身の積み上げてきた音楽性を自在に展開させ、聴く者の心を打つ楽曲を産み出す。そんなSAHAJiのロックンロール・スターへの軌跡の第一歩を見届けよう。
